Where Will The Nurses Go?

With more and more nurses produced every year, what do you think they’ll be doing while waiting for the approval of their documents to work and travel abroad? Working as a nurse in a hospital is an option but with everyone else doing that, it is impossible for such a huge number to be accommodated. No wonder we find nurses lining up to apply for work in other fields.

Ideally, nurses work in a hospital or in another health care setting but during times of over supply such as today, those nurses have to find other means of earning money. They can’t sit for months doing nothing at home while waiting for a call from the hospital that they have applied to without assurance that they are going to be hired. It’s simply a waste of time.

There is also another group of nurses who are avoiding these hospitals. It’s because there are so many other high-paying jobs in the market. Why should they stick with a minimum income where they will only be overworked? They do have a point but if they don’t practice their profession, they won’t gain much experience which is required of hospitals when they work overseas.

You can often see nurses working as call center agents, English teachers to foreign students, and just about any other establishment that hires people from a variety of backgrounds. They of course hire the ones who pass their application exams and interview, and have the dedication to work for their company.

It would seem as if nurses would become a “jack of all trades” if this oversupply keeps up. Hopefully, wherever they may go, they would still be able to practice the principles of nursing that they have learned in school and soon, they’ll be able to fully practice their profession as nurses.
